Personal touches work!!

Received this in the post from and a fashion and clothing website…I had only bought a tshirt. The packaging was so well designed and organised with its own personal touches with a lovely postcard and peg. The little peg even has the name of the website stamped on it!! Impressed.

NIKE Basketball

Found these lovely designs on the network Behance, they have been designed by a agency called Vasava in Barcelona.  Vasava works for companies large and small, including well-known brands such as Nike, Rocawear, Adobe, Diesel, 55DSL, Mango, Budweiser and Red Bull. The studio's designers spend time on commercial work but also on awe-inspiring personal design, illustration and typography design that is displayed in exhibitions and books around the world. These designs above are for NIKE Basketball

2010-2011.

Lovely ink image making below, so simple but effective.

Waitrose Packaging

In 2005 Lewis Moberly created this new packaging for Waitrose for a re-launch of its rage of specialist pre-packed cheese and the resluts are simple, sophisticated and appetizing. The packaging is of course still modern today. Lewis Moberly are also responsible for the following Waitrose herbs packaging. The type is designed so perfect to fit in with the small packaging the herbs are in, I love the different phrases on each individual herb like they have different personalities.

My favourite and often award-winning food and drink packaging designs were and still are from the supermarket chain Waitrose in the UK. They always push the boat out for their packaging and it was always grabbing your attention and yet at the same time, simple and pleasing to the eye. Design companies that worked in the past on the Waitrose packaging included Lewis Moberly, Turner Duckworth, Bhavesh Chauhan, Swissmiss, Studio 176 to name but a few.

Simple yet effective

Spotted this packaging on a design blog and can't find anywhere who designed the packaging! I really like how simple this honey packaging is, it looks very natural and effective. It would obviously stand out on a shelf with all the current honey packaging at the supermarkets. Beautiful.

Stephan Sagmeister who?

The Cheltenam design festival is coming up this weekend and who is going to be headlining the whole event.....thats right, Stephan Sagmeister. Its just my luck that my current work (restaurant) have no idea who he is, thus meaning I can't book it off work. The sooner I get a job in design the better!!! Obviously still looking, no luck yet.

Nice design

Found these on a website I'm addicted too at the moment called 'Type for now'. Here is a great project by the Glasgow based design studio KVGD (Kerr Vernon Graphic Design).Kerr has teamed up with Glasgow Press to produce these wonderful letterpress postcards that feature songs by some of their favorite Glasgow bands. The piece is for sale for the fine price of £3 and all proceeds go toBarnardo’s Childrens Charity, which is just a fantastic cause.

Nice type

Just been watching the brit awards and noticed 'blurs' typeface. I really like how the type still looks contemporary after 20 years in the music business.
